“Hindsight” would be a piece of financial software that would take inputs in the form of what you did with your money, and then tell you what you COULD have done instead.
Specifically, you could input the purchase price of your home, along with your down payment. It would have default parameters for interest rate, market performance, and many other factors. You could change these as desired. Then it would do a comparitive calculation to determine the difference in your net worth if
a) you had rented instead of bought in the same zip code, and invested the difference in the market (Dow Jones Industrial Average).
b) you had made a larger down payment
c) other
Then “Hindsight” would use high tech sensors to determine your pulse rate, blood pressure, and mood. If you didn’t feel bad enough already, “Hindsight” would kick you in the respective genetalia.
