The purpose of intellectual property laws is to make sure that people who come up with ideas can make a living. We now have the technology to monitor the amount of money derived from a patent or copyright. So let us simply remove the outdated time restrictions on IP and instead change them to monetary restrictions. Nah. Wouldn’t you concede that some ideas are better than others? Shouldn’t the inventor of some great revolutionary invention get more money than some goon who made another “As Seen on TV” plastic doohickey? Set the million dollar limit would mean that all patents are created equal.
